“All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others”

This quote from George Orwell’s Animal Farm comes to mind when I reflect on the news of the past few days. Just yesterday the Episcopal Church released a media statement saying:
“the [USA] federal government informed Episcopal Migration Ministries that under the terms of our federal grant, we are expected to resettle white Afrikaners from South Africa whom the U.S. government has classified as refugees… In light of our church’s steadfast commitment to racial justice and reconciliation and our historic ties with the Anglican Church of Southern Africa, we are not able to take this step. Accordingly, we have determined that, by the end of the federal fiscal year, we will conclude our refugee resettlement grant agreements with the U.S. federal government… I also grieve that victims of religious persecution, including Christians, have not been granted refuge in recent months.”
This statement is making the following assumptions:
- Afrikaners/Boers are not Christians :
This assumption is not true. Afrikaners came into existence as a Christian people – Afrikaners/Boers are overwhelmingly Christian. - Afrikaners/Boere are white :
This is not true because as Dr Heese (Groep sonder grense) has pointed out Afrikaners/Boere have some indiginous KhoiSan ancestrey. It would be true to say that Afrikaners/Boere are mostly white, but it is untrue to say they are exclusively white. Furthermore, the language that Afrikaners/Boere is speaking is mostly of Dutch origin, but it also absorbed KhoiSan, Indonesian and French words. - Afrikaners/Boere are inherantly racist people :
This is not true. Read Prof FN Lee’s writings on South Africa as well as Prof Herman Geolomee’s book The Afrikaners. Prof Eric Louw also did several video’s on Afrikaners/Boere[2] and wrote the book Rise, Fall and Legacy of Apartheid - Afrikaners/Boere are not being persecuted :
This not true because Julius Malea’s EFF is continuously singing the song, “Kill the Boer/Farmer”. Keep in mind that the overwhelming number of farmers (Afrikaans: boere) in SA are also Afrikaners/Boere and this group is disproportionately represented in the number of murders. Afriforum unsuccessfully petitioned the courts in SA to declare the song as Hate Speech.
Furthermore, the ANC adopted the Expropriation Without Compensation Law in order to confiscate Afrikaner property.
The ANC also adopted the BELA law in order to make all Afrikaans schools English only schools. So, basically confiscating Afrikaans schools. Many Afrikaners have started to homeschool in recent years in order to escape the antiChristian government curriculum. This BELA bill is attempting to make it very difficult for Christian Afrikaners to home-school.
Wikipedia[3] is giving the following definition to the Woke term Safe Spaces :
“The term safe space refers to places ‘intended to be free of bias, conflict, criticism, or potentially threatening actions, ideas, or conversations’, according to Merriam-Webster… It is a place where marginalized[d] groups can discuss issues pertinent to them without having to address questions or remarks that might be directed at them from majority groups in society who are not familiar with certain issues. The term originated in LGBTQ culture, but has since expanded to include any place where a marginalized minority (e.g., gender, racial[a], religious[b], ethnic[c]) can come together to communicate regarding their shared experiences. Safe spaces are most commonly located on university campuses in the western world, but also are at workplaces, as in the case of Nokia”
Now, Afrikaners would qualify as a marginalised[d] group because they constitute only 5% of the total South African population. They had their own country which was a much smaller portion of current South Africa in the 1800’s, and tried to resist the colonialism grab from 1899-1902. Only after the British utilized concentration camps and killed around 14% of them (mostly children), did they surrender. The British send troops from all over the world to come and conquer the Afrikaner people. The number of troops were twice as many as the total Afrikaner population (soldiers, women, children and elderly included).
If you read Prof FN Lee’s books & articles about South Africa, then you realise that the Afrikaners are a very religious group[b]. So, in terms of Wikipedia’s definition, they do qualify for that as well.
Futhermore, Afrikaners/Boere are classified by their enemies – including British (1800’s) as well as contemporaries like Julius Malema as a subsection of a racial group[a].
So, from various angles it seems the Woke crowd should actually side with Afrikaners and should demand a safe space for Afrikaners. Afrikaners/Boere have negotiated in the 1994 settlement that ethnic/cultural groups have the right to self determination in article 235 of the constitution. In essence that Afrikaners/Boere and others are allowed to have safe spaces. It is quite ironic to see a Woke church like the Epistocal Church say that they do not want to help Afrikaners. It is also strange to see someone like Julius Malema actively undermining Afrikaners a safe space that has been created via article 235 in the constitution (called Orania). Malema says that article 235 should be scrapped from the constitution and that he would like to demolish Orania.
But, then I remind myself that Woke came into existence as an offshoot of Marxism and George Orwell’s Animal Farm was mocking Marxism when he was referring to: “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others”. Yes, everyone can have safe spaces, but Afrikaners cannot. They are too white and too Christian to allow that. “All marginalised groups can have safe spaces, but some marginalised groups more than others”.
